DRAGON KILLERS
GEORGE AND THE DRAGON
A weary beggar approached a roadside inn that wore the name, “George and the Dragon.” Knocking on the office door, he was met by a hateful, mean, nasty, spirteful, filth spewing, and bitter woman who screamed for him to leave the property.
Mustering up enough nerve, he knocked a second time and asked, “May I speak to George please?”
I guess we have all encountered “dragons” in real life. They are found down at the grocery store, on school property, in shopping malls, in the community, our own families and sometimes even in church and at home! Maybe, if we are honest with ourselves, we would admit to being a “dragon” at certain times as well.
Some advice here from Jesus:
Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? It is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Matt 5:13-16
More advice from Paul:
Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. Eph 4:29
