Righteousness

Righteousness is one of the many attributes of God that we should be thankful for. It means that God always makes the right decision. The same can hardly be said of us.

Righteousness is also what separates us from God. God is righteous and we are not. Sin can’t enter into the presence of God. So we have a problem.

But thank the Lord, God gives us grace - God’s Righteousness at Christ’s Expense - so that we may be considered righteous and able to enter God’s presence.

Because of God’s love, He offered us righteousness. We didn’t get what we deserved - death.  We got what we didn’t deserve instead. 

We have two reasons to thank God for righteousness. We know that the decisions that God makes will be right and we have no need to question them. And we have the gift of righteousness that God gives us so that we can spend eternity with Him.

Shew thy marvellous lovingkindness, O thou that savest by thy right hand them which put their trust in thee from those that rise up against them.  Psalms 17:7
