WISDOM AND INSTRUCTION
To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding; Prov 1:2
As used here, wisdom means living and thinking according to God’s truth, ways, and design.
(1) We Must Approach All Of Our Life From God’s Point Of View
We must believe that everything that God says is true, and right, and that it is the only living standard by which we are to live.
Gaining wisdom is far better than possesing gold, or silver. Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding. For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold. Prov 3:13-14
(2) Wisdom Comes To Those Who Seek It Through A Proper Relationship With God.
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. Prov 1:7
We must obtain wisdom by also diligently studying God’s Word. My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments: For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee. Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart Prov 3:1-3
(3) Jesus Christ Is The Ultimate Wisdom Of God.
In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. Col 2:3
We gain much wisdom by abiding in His Word, and by allowing His Words to abide in us. If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. John 15:7 We also obtain this wonderful wisdom by yielding our hearts and minds to the indwelling Holy Ghost (Holy Spirit). And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. John 14:16-17
