THIRSTING FOR GOD
We are aware that water is essential for our physical life. But often we forget that God and His presence are very essential for our satisfaction and fullness of life. As Christians we should develop a great hunger and thirst for God. We should crave His grace, blessings, and His supernatural activity in our lives.
(1) TO STOP THIRSTING FOR GOD IS TO DIE SPIRITUALLY
You and I should never allow anything to diminish our intense desire for the things of God. We need to beware of the cares of this world , the pursuit of earthly things. We need to be aware of the pleasures that choke out our hunger and thirst for God, and our desire to seek His face in prayer. And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful. Mark 4:19
(2) WE NEED TO PRAY THAT OUR LONGING FOR GOD’S PRESENCE WILL BE STRENGTHENED
We should pray that our love for the full manifestation of the Holy Spirit will be greater. You and I need to pray that our passion for the fullness of the Christ’s kingdom will be more intense and greater. We need a greater desire for His righteousness to be more deepened in our lives until we cry out to Him day and night. This needs to be expressed in our lives daily with a heartfelt thirst, even as the Hart panteth after the water brooks, in the midst of a drought. As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God. Psalms 42:1 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Matt 6:33
