VANITY
All of our activities here on planet Earth are meaningless and purposeless when we carry them out aside from God’s will, His fellowship, and His loving activity in our lives. As we know from reading and studying God’s Word, in Ecclesiastes, the whole creation itself is subject to vanity and corruption.
(1) WE NEED TO DESTROY ALL HOPES THAT WE PLACE IN THE SECULAR WORLD.
God wants us to see the solemn facts of evil and injustice, and death that are in the world today. We must realize that life apart from God has no meaning and it cannot produce true happiness. For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring. Acts 17:28
(2) THE SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM IS FOUND IN FAITH AND TRUST IN GOD
It is only our faith and trust in Him that makes this life worthwhile. You and I must learn to look beyond the earthly things into the Heaven Realm of God to receive our hope, joy, and peace. I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of witty inventions. The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate. Prov 8:12-13 Preserve me, O God: for in thee do I put my trust. Psalms 16:1
