THE MEEK

The LORD lifteth up the meek: he casteth the wicked down to the ground. Psalms 147:6

The term “Meek” (Hebrew..anawah) often includes the idea of suffering, and refers to those who are afflicted. Because people cannot cope with all of life’s problems and responsibilities by themselves, in humility they call upon God for His help and strength.

(1)  GOD LIFTS THE MEEK AND GIVES THEM SUPPORT

You and I are assured of God’s help and ultimate victory The meek shall eat and be satisfied: they shall praise the LORD that seek him: your heart shall live for ever. Psalms 22:26  The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way. Psalms 25:9

(2)  GOD MINISTERS TO THE AFFLICTED AND HUMBLE

Throughout the entirety of the Bible we have a clear picture of God ministering to His people in their times of trouble. Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. Matt 11:28-30  But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked. Isaiah 11:4

(3)  GOD DELIGHTS IS A HUMBLE SPIRIT

Each Christian should earnestly pray for a spirit of humility, so we may be pleasing to God. Meekness, temperance: against such there is no lawGal 5:23  To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men. Titus 3:2
