TRANSGRESSION
2010 March 3
THE DAY OF HIS TRANSGRESSION
God judges everyone righteously and justly.
(1) THE RIGHTEOUS WHO TURN BACK INTO SIN WILL BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE
The righteous who have turned away from God and back into sin will be held accountable for their sins. They will surely die in those sins, if they aren’t repented of. As Christians we cannot count on our past deeds of righteousness to save us. When I shall say to the righteous, that he shall surely live; if he trust to his own righteousness, and commit iniquity, all his righteousnesses shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that he hath committed, he shall die for it. Ezek 33:13
(2) THE WICKED WHO TURN TO GOD WILL BE SAVED
On the other hand those who turn to God and away from God will be saved. None of their sins will ever be remembered against them. Again, when I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; if he turn from his sin, and do that which is lawful and right; If the wicked restore the pledge, give again that he had robbed, walk in the statutes of life, without committing iniquity; he shall surely live, he shall not die. None of his sins that he hath committed shall be mentioned unto him: he hath done that which is lawful and right; he shall surely live. Ezek 33:14-16 Those who turn from sin will receive the gift of eternal life.
(3) OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD IS VERY IMPORTANT
It would do us as Christians good to remember and understand the importance of our current relationship with God. If we turn away from God and His Word while assuming that our past faith and good works it will be fatal. Conversely if we turn to God in sincere repentance regardless of past sins, He will accept us. For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Romans 3:23 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. 1 John 2:1-2
